When was the last time you got the call for a baby shower? Amidst the thunder and lightning, I keep my focus on the positive and throw a lively bash for the absolute best in the world: our kids! Who can resist the charm of babies? Even before they make their grand entrance into the world, it’s time to kick up our heels and have a blast! We transform the room into a party wonderland, whip up delightful beverages and scrumptious snacks, and turn our interactive whiteboard into a captivating canvas, replacing ordinary backgrounds with scenes I’ve painted. Then, we dive into the creation of our dynamic learning stations. Each station boasts a thrilling 3D printable activity! There’s an abundance of them, as the ‘to be’ verb comes in various forms—affirmative, interrogative, and negative. We’re here to dazzle in every single one of them, aren’t we? Baby Shower Party: The Verb ‘To Be’ & Lots of Games
And this is only the beginning! Get ready for a thrilling journey as I’ve decided to share nearly every week – God willing – all the highlights from my 40 years of teaching experience.

Πρόσκληση σε πάρτι!
Πότε ήταν η τελευταία φορά που σας κάλεσαν σε πάρτι για τον ερχομό ενός μωρού; Μέσα στις βροντές και στις αστραπές, επιμένω να βλέπω τη θετική όψη των πραγμάτων και ετοιμάζω πάρτι για τους καλύτερους ανθρώπους του κόσμου: τα παιδιά! Aν διδάσκεις το ρήμα ‘to be” και θες να αποφύγεις τις βαρετές ασκήσεις του βιβλίου, έλα στο πάρτι μας! Ο κύριος κι η κυρία ΒE έχουν οργανώσει το καλύτερο καλωσόρισμα!
Σε ποιον δεν αρέσουν τα μωρά; Όταν ακόμα βρίσκονται μέσα στην κοιλιά της μαμάς τους, είναι η καλύτερη ευκαιρία για να ξεσαλώσουμε! Διακοσμούμε την αίθουσα, ετοιμάζουμε ροφήματα και κατάλληλα snacks, δείχνουμε στον διαδραστικό πίνακα σκηνές που έχω ζωγραφίσει -στη θέση των σκηνικών- και αρχίζουμε το στήσιμο των σταθμών μάθησης. Κάθε σταθμός και μία εκτυπώσιμη 3D δραστηριότητα! Είναι πολλές, γιατί ως ρήμα έχει και κατάφαση, και ερώτηση, και άρνηση. Θέλουμε να εντυπωσιάσουμε σε όλες τις μορφές του, σωστά; Κι αν το πάρτυ διαρκέσει πολλές μέρες, ακόμα καλύτερα, ε; Γιατί να φάμε όλον αυτόν τον καιρό με ασκήσεις που δεν έχουν κάποιο ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον, συμπληρώνοντας κενά και βάζοντας κυκλάκια;
Είμαστε μοναδικοί και το ξέρουμε! Δεν αξίζουμε λοιπόν να περνάμε κι εμείς ως εκπαιδευτικοί τέλεια στην τάξη μαζί με τους μοναδικούς μαθητές μας; Δεν φτιάχνουμε εντυπωσιακά μαθήματα μόνο για τα παιδιά, αλλά και για εμάς! Αν είμαστε εμείς καλά, τότε η θετική ενέργεια αναβλύζει από μέσα μας και μεταδίδεται και στους γύρω μας! Γύρω από έναν δάσκαλο που περνάει καλά, πάντα βλέπεις ένα τσούρμο παιδιά που ευχαριστιούνται το μάθημα!
Το ρήμα “to be” είναι ιδανικό γιατί διδάσκεται σε 3 επίπεδα:
- Junior A’
- Junior B’
- και Α’ class!
Στους μικρότερους αναλυτικά, στους μεγαλύτερους πιο γρήγορα, επαναληπτικά. Αξίζει λοιπόν να έχουμε υλικό που να μένει ανεξίτηλο στις μνήμες τους και να έχει πολλές εκδοχές! Άλλωστε, ποιος δε θέλει να πηγαίνει σε πάρτι; Και τώρα που ανοίγουν τα σχολεία, τι καλύτερο να ξεκινήσουμε τα μαθήματα, έτσι, αναπάντεχα, με μια καλά οργανωμένη έκπληξη;
Όσοι με ξέρουν, γνωρίζουν πως μου αρέσει να μεταμορφώνω κανόνες της γλώσσας σε καταστάσεις που συναντάμε στη ζωή, όπως έναν γάμο ή μια δεξίωση. Βaby Shower Party όμως, πρώτη φορά δημοσιοποιώ. Έφτιαξα λοιπόν:
- 35 εκτυπώσιμες διαδραστικές σελίδες,
- ζωγράφισα το ζευγάρι ΒΕ στο σπίτι τους να δέχεται τους καλεσμένους του,
- έγραψα αναλυτικά τις οδηγίες για το πώς διακοσμώ την τάξη,
- τι έχω ξεχωρίσει απ’ όλα τα χρόνια στα πάρτι που έχω κάνει και τι εντυπωσίασε περισσότερο
- πώς να ετοιμάσουμε-σουν snacks που να ταιριάζουν στην περίσταση
- αλλά και μικρές πινελιές από λεπτομέρειες εδώ κι εκεί που κάνουν τη διαφορά.
- Φυσικά, μάζεψα κι όλες τις δραστηριότητες που άρεσαν περισσότερο, οι οποίες είτε εκτυπώνονται είτε προβάλλονται σε οποιαδήποτε οθόνη!
- Τους δε σελιδοδείκτες που βλέπετε εδώ, τι θα λέγατε να τους βάζατε σαν κρυφά ραβασάκια στις τσέπες των μαθητών σας, με ένα όμορφο προσωπικό μήνυμα καλωσορίσματος από εσάς προς εκείνους; Μια συνάδελφος τα έκανε μικρά ρολά, τα έδεσε με μια χρωματιστή κλωστή και εν τέλει έμοιαζαν με μικρούλια διπλώματα!
